Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: April 22, 2026

The short version: FilterKilter participates in affiliate advertising programs. When you click a “Buy” or retailer link on this site and complete a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

As an Amazon Associate, FilterKilter earns from qualifying purchases.

Who we work with

We may earn commissions from the following retailer and manufacturer affiliate programs, among others. Any outbound link on this site that points to one of these merchants should be assumed to be an affiliate link:

  • Amazon.com (Amazon Associates Program)
  • Best Buy
  • Walmart
  • Dell Technologies
  • HP
  • Lenovo
  • ASUS
  • Acer
  • Microsoft
  • Newegg
  • B&H Photo Video

These relationships are typically administered through networks such as Amazon Associates, Impact, Rakuten Advertising, Partnerize, CJ Affiliate, and AvantLink. We may add or remove programs at any time without notice.

How it works

When you click an outbound link on FilterKilter and land on a retailer or manufacturer site, a small tag is attached to your visit. If you buy a qualifying product within that merchant’s attribution window, the merchant pays FilterKilter a percentage of the sale as an advertising fee. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise — the commission comes out of the retailer’s marketing budget, not your pocket.

Editorial independence

No retailer or manufacturer pays us to include a product, to rank it in a particular position, or to write anything specific about it. Concretely:

  • Our rankings are generated from the public specifications of each laptop filtered and sorted against the requirements of real-world software and games — not commission rates.
  • We do not accept payment, review units, sponsored placements, or “pay-to-play” editorial arrangements in exchange for inclusion in our buying guides.
  • A product’s position on this site is not affected by whether a retailer offering it happens to run an affiliate program, or by how much that program pays.
  • If a better laptop exists but none of its retailers have an affiliate program we participate in, we’ll still rank it where it deserves to be ranked — we just won’t earn a commission when you buy it.

Pricing and availability

Prices, stock, configurations, and promotions change frequently and are controlled entirely by the retailer or manufacturer, not by FilterKilter. Any price, discount, or availability information shown on this site is a snapshot taken at a particular moment in time and may be outdated by the time you click through. Always confirm the final price and specifications on the retailer’s own product page before purchasing.

Product images may be representative illustrations unless provided by an approved retailer, manufacturer, or affiliate data source.

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 255 — Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising — and the terms of the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement. If you have any questions about how an individual link on this site is monetized, please get in touch.
